When ever i laugh or cough i get sharp pains in my upper chest and if i cough to hard it feels like a bunch of needles in my chest and sometimes i cough up blood

coughing up blood = doctor time.

me, knowing nothing, i'd guess a gremlin might be growing in there. sorry if this comment causes you lung pain. if you smoke or otherwise are exposed to stuff that might be causing these issues: might want to avoid that stuff.

if you're here because you don't have insurance, check with your local city government to see about medical assistance programs. there's usually some kinda help available.

If you cough up blood even just once, it is important to make an appointment to see your physician. Your doctor will recommend tests to determine the cause. Possible tests may include -blood test, chest X-ray, CT scan and/or Bronchoscopy
